There are a number of ways a PSTD  Service Dog can help such as deep pressure therapy, acting as a deterrent for self harm, calming panic attacks and meltdowns, confidence building, so on and so forth. However PTSD  can drastically range and affects every individual are different. With that being said our program is aided towards tailored training, we want to make sure to put together a tailored training program to fit our clients specific needs and lifestyle. A lot of the times we get potential clients asking us in what  ways the service dog would be of help to their situation, to answer that question we'd need to look at their specific needs and determine what an PTSD Service Dog can do for them. We have a detailed 14 page application to help us determine what specific training the dogs will need. We'll also ask for videos and additional information so we can be as accurate as possible in getting them the right dog and training.

The initial step in our program involves our dogs going through a thorough puppy raising process. We conduct bi-weekly tests to determine the most suitable program for each dog. All dogs are handpicked by our trainers and undergo temperament testing tailored to their specific program. Once they complete this phase, we transition them into obedience training. Here, they learn essential commands such as heel, sit, down, auto sits, come, leave it, bed, and load up. Our training approach spans both our facility and our trainers' homes, ensuring the dogs acclimate to a family environment and facilitating their transition into your home. This home-based training approach ensures relevance to their daily lifestyle and reinforces foundational obedience. Each dog must demonstrate proficiency in obedience by passing our comprehensive standard obedience test, evaluated both on and off-leash in settings with varying levels of distraction.

The next phase is public access training, where we reinforce obedience in increasingly distracting environments. Starting in low-distraction settings like quiet stores, we gradually progress to busy shopping centers, restaurants, and office buildings. We introduce our own distractions to assess the dogs' ability to remain focused and respond appropriately. We tailor training to fit your daily routines; for example, if your child uses public transportation, we ensure the dog is trained accordingly, familiarizing them with vehicles, buses, trams, and elevators.

The final stage focuses on meeting our clients' specific needs. While these needs are addressed throughout training, this phase fine-tunes the dog's skills to cater specifically to PTSD-related challenges. Dogs may be trained to address repetitive behaviors, provide deep pressure therapy, offer comfort during panic attacks, and assist with specific tasks as needed. This integrative phase combines obedience, public access, and specialized training to meet individual client requirements effectively. 

Our PTSD program typically spans 12 to 18 months, depending on current time frames.

• Have a letter from the Dr or a formal Diagnosis 
• Be able to financially provide for the dog's healthcare, hygiene, food etc..
• Show kindness to dogs

Please note that our service dogs are offered at cost and are not covered by health insurance. The total cost varies based on factors such as specific training needs, delivery location, pick-up or delivery options, and breed selection.
